As President of The Terminal Holding Group with over 30 years of experience in marine terminal operations, Chris plays a pivotal role in various business initiatives, most notable being the terminal operator in both San Juan and Jacksonville. Given his expertise, May was asked to aid in the transition of TOTE from an independent stevedore vendor for Jacksonville operations to that of an internal organization, First Coast Terminals. He also played a pivotal role in the creation of Puerto Rico Terminals and the joint venture of Puerto Nuevo Terminals.
May began his career as night superintendent at Maher Terminals. Next, he became terminal manager of Matlack Trucking in Bayonne, New Jersey. May then spent the next seven years at the Port of Miami with Oceanic Steamship as the Vessel Operations Manager and was promoted to Vice President, Operations. Following the sale of Oceanic, he moved to the West Coast and took the position of Terminal Manager of Marine Terminals Corp. May then moved to Jacksonville for the position of Senior Vice President at Coastal Maritime, later rebranded as Portus where he was President.
May is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
